Molten Corporation is a Japanese company that manufactures sports equipment and automotive parts, based in Hiroshima, Japan. Soccer, basketball, volleyball and handball balls are regularly used for official competition matches.
Founded in 1958 with its headquarters in Hiroshima, Japan, Molten is the largest producer of balls in the world and one of the most important sports equipment products. Molten USA, Inc. was established in 1983 with the goal of bringing its excellent quality products to this market.
Just six years after its founding, Molten basketball, volleyball and soccer balls were the official balls of the Tokyo Olympics. Since then, Molten has been the Official supplier of basketballs for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 1984, Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. Likewise, Molten balls have been the Official balls of the International Basketball Federation for the last 25 years.
Molten volleyballs have been the official balls of the United States national teams since 1997.

In Spain, Molten is the brand used for all competitions of the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation, model V5M5000 for Senior competitions and model V5M4000 for championships of Spain in school age by autonomous communities and Championships of Spain for children, cadets and youth by clubs. Some federations of autonomous communities also use the V5M4000 model for their official competitions from children, and in categories below children they use the balls adapted to the corresponding categories. In the beach mode, there are autonomous communities that use the latest Molten beach model.
